Cherry's Personal Collection . Excellent E. I. Horsman "Berkeley" Antique Lawn Tennis
Racquet from Jeanne Cherry’s personal collection - This Rare all original E.I. Horsman has a laminated
wedge and marked with the "Horsman Centaur" gold logo; however, there is some wear on the gold logo. Marked “Manufactured
by E. I. Horsman Co, New York” Strung with antique natural thick gut strings with
red gut trebling at the top; however, two main side strings are broken. The racquet is straight with an attractive dark
amber patina; however, there are scrapes, dings, scratches, and dirt as
expected on an early antique E. I. Horsman racquet. The butt collar is missing.
This very desirable racquet is in original antique condition. 27 1/8 inches long E. I. Horsman was one of the earliest makers of tennis racquets
in the United States. This is an excellent collector’s racquet from Jeanne Cherry’s
personal collection shown in her book. We offer our racquets in all original condition with no
